FAQ
Short questions, short answers.
Who is UDF for?
For lawyers, law firms and in-house legal departments. A one-person practice and a team of twenty-five work with the same account.
How does the trial work?
You try it free for 14 days. You open the account with your email address and enter no payment details.
What is in the portal?
The Today screen, clients, matters, a calendar (hearings and deadlines), tasks, calculators, finance, letterhead documents that can be verified, and e-signature. You can switch modules on and off in settings. The staff module is in development.
How do you calculate deadlines?
The deadline engine calculates the last day from the rule and the triggering date. Public holidays and weekends move the date to the next day, the judicial recess extension is applied, and every step is shown on screen. A rule whose source is not verified is flagged with a warning. The lawyer always confirms the final date.
How are my documents verified?
Each document carries a 12-character verification code at the bottom right; a QR code can be printed as well. Whoever scans the QR or types the code sees whether the document is valid, cancelled or replaced by a new one. They can also pick a PDF and compare it; the file never leaves their device.
Can I open UDF files?
Yes. The editor at udf.web.tr opens UYAP's .udf files in the browser, lets you edit them and converts them to PDF. You do not need to install Java.
Is there e-signature?
Yes. You plug your qualified e-signature card into any computer in the office and install the Connector app on that computer. Authorized team members sign .udf documents from the portal. The PIN is encrypted in the browser and only the Connector on the computer holding the card can decrypt it; our server never sees the PIN. You decide who may use each card. To sign, the computer holding the card must be on and the Connector must be running.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet. Android and iOS apps are planned; we will announce them here once they are in the app stores.
Where is my data, and who can see it?
Data is kept on servers managed by Ankara Yazılım and located in Hetzner Online GmbH's data centers in the European Union. Each firm's records are tied to its own account; no other firm can see them. Roles decide who on your team sees what.
Are the calculators free?
Yes. The court fee, attorney fee and interest calculators work without an account. The amounts you enter are calculated in your browser and are not sent to a server.
